Last night, I went and visited Blender Lane Artist Market at Dark Horse Experiment and was so happy to see my three brand new video artworks projected on the front of the gallery by Melbourne Projection Space. I took a few photos - but it doesn’t quite do it justice (as I had just come from another Midsumma exhibition in St. Kilda at Bright Space, “Company Of Men” and had had a few champagnes) - if you are in town, stop by after 8pm (9pm/10 is best, once it is dark) and have a look at my three new video works for my piece, THE EDITOR for Midsumma’s SHIFTING GROUND exhibition. The three projection works explore the artists body and the use of our physical bodies in association to beauty and ugliness. THE EDITOR is about the mutilations and self-harm we do to ourselves in the pursuit of ‘beauty’. “Phobia As Abortive Metaphor Of Want” “I Am Afraid Of Being Bitten Or I Am Afraid Of Biting” “The Two Sided Sacred”
