“KILL ME, CHARLIE” Invitation

Comment

Matto Lucas, Visual Artist, uses Artist’s flesh as medium in the time-based performance “Kill Me, Charlie” – which will see its final ‘presentation’ in the form of an exhibition at Melbourne City Library. “Kill Me, Charlie” aims to present, through a range of media (2D mixed-media artworks, photography, documents and statistics, video and performance etc) questions about our perceived notions of masculine beauty within our contemporary society. Through Lucas’ transformation/mutilation, Lucas asks the viewer to participate in the questioning of what is true, and what is false, what is real and what is not, what is beautiful and what is ugly? www.mattolucas.com https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/MelbourneLibraryService Facebook RSVP here.
