"Annette Chang is a Taiwanese-Australian artist who has lived, studied and worked in Melbourne for more than 30 years. Chang's works combine her Asian cultural background and the influence of Western culture after immigrating to Australia and reflect contemporary social phenomena with the mentality of an observer.
What is Currency? What is it made of, and what is it worth? Does the value fluctuate depending on who the evaluator is and when it is being evaluated? With this exhibition, Chang has flipped the vehicle for making purchases into the object to be purchased. Chang induces viewers to reflect on currency and the value it represents."
