Company of Men 2015

Comment

Company of Men 2015, - another year, more boys for the Midsumma Festival group exhibition at Brightspace St. Kilda. Why, it just feels like yesterday we interviewed the curator as our first interview on the site, or ventured out for the first time to document the sweaty, half-naked, summer bodies at the launch. From the Midsumma website: Get ready for another hot one with the second instalment of the Company of Men exhibition (COM 15). It will be larger and sexier than last year, featuring 21 local, interstate and international visual, performance and video artists. Being held again at the stunning BrightSpace in St Kilda, COM 15 will be a multimedia extravaganza, a feast for the eyes. The gallery will once again turn into a dynamic space where you will experience carnal tinglings, visual and auditory delights. RETURNING ARTISTS A mix of locally grown talent as well as interstate delights: Bad Behaviour • Nik Dimopoulos • Damien Hinds • Shane Luskie • Brenton Parry • Simonology andRogan Richards appearing once again in ‘Rogan’s Den’, for a bit of grunt and sweat (and possibly tears) on opening night and throughout the season. HOT NEW TALENT Amazing new talent: Brent Bennett • Grant Cook • Joel Devereux • Joseph Eskander • Boni Jiménez (aka RanchoRocket from Spain) • Matto Lucas • Tom Miller • Dan Molloy • Michael Oelofse • Marc Savoia • Steve Scalone • Jonathan Tether • Michael Van Leeuwen • Guy James Whitworth . Opening night: Wednesday 21 January, two of Melbourne’s sexiest DJs Kam Shafaati and Grant Cook will be adding the disco to the space with a couple of hot, hot sets. Facebook event here.
